RHEUMATOLOGY CARE IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD

Rheumatology, the field of medicine related to the diagnosis and therapy of rheumatic diseases in the hand, is more common than you think. It can appear in many forms, but a major side effect of rheumatic disease is pain.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE A RHEUMATIC DISEASE

Rheumatic diseases may come in different forms, but almost all forms involve a certain level of pain concentrated in the hands. Below are some symptoms associated with rheumatic disease. If you believe you are struggling with any of the following, reach out to a medical professional immediately.

      • Joint Pain
      • Fatigue
      • Joint Stiffness
      • Blue or white fingers when in the cold
      • Kidney issues
      • Sun sensitivity
      • Hair loss
      • Tenderness in hands
      • Redness in hands

Some of these symptoms, such as fatigue, could be due to another underlying medical reason such as lack of hydration or lack of sleep. Do not immediately assume that if you have one of these symptoms, it is immediately due to rheumatic disease. The best thing to do is see how long your symptoms last. If they last longer than 5 days, take note of the symptoms and then consult one of our doctors at (281) 845-8916.
