TRAUMA CARE

While you can’t predict a trauma injury, they can happen to anyone, at any place, at any time. If you suffer from a trauma injury, such as a bad fall or burn, the last thing you want to worry about is finding medical care. At Townsen Memorial Hospital and Emergency Room, we take trauma seriously, so you can focus on what matters—your recovery.

In medical terms, trauma refers to a serious or critical bodily injury that requires immediate medical attention. They often require emergent interventions to save a patient’s life or limb(s). The most common trauma injuries occur due to falls and motor vehicle accidents. However, these are not the only incidents that can cause a patient serious harm. Any event that causes life-threatening injuries can be referred to as traumas. Some additional examples include burns, assaults, and gun shot wounds.
